Nijou castle, Golden pavillon and Arashiyama!

After awaking at the Kyoto Tower Hotel we went to Nijou Castle. Shogun was living there. Some great painting inside but we can't take picture inside. All those details inside reminded me the one we can find in churches. Even if I don't follow any religion, I love to see the great achitectural work they do in that kinda of places.

I love those roofs!!

A lot of works in those roofs. It was a bit cold out there also. Since in Québec we don't have any historical bulding older that 75 years old...it's fantastic to see very old stuff. Imagining that people from more than 100 years ago probaly watched also the same building as I did thinking about the meaning of life and death.

Also great scenaries. It's so calm that we can imagine sleeping on the grass next to a place like that.

Next is Golden Pavillon. We can't go inside at all. They show some pictures about the inside. This pavillon is really small but cute. Since it's gold, I'm sure it's protected 24/24. Perfect scenaries for an historical drama.

At the end of the first day we went to Arashiyama to walk through this bambou forest. We don't have any bambou in Canada. It was interesting to see how it's growing and the roots. A really quite place. I enjoyed it a lot.

Welcome to Japan!

After more than 21 hours in planes and no sleep, I got to Narita where my husband was waiting for me on december 23 afternoon. I was already in a following mode at that time. Time in plane is not just long but also boring. After some other trains we got to Kyoto Tower Hotel for the first part of this trip.

His parent where waiting for me. I took this opportunity to give them the gift I brought in Québec. After some chat we went to eat. Japanese loves to eat and drink alchool. For my part I try now to get some food more close to my taste. The first trip I made I tryed a lot more. You don't know your need and taste untill you make that kinda of trip I guess. Now I know that I like meat and solid food (witch makes my husband laugh). Most of the food in japan is soak  in liquid and smooth. Everything they like most have poor consistance. Most of the time it taste the same. They also put a lot of mayonese or sauce on it (so it can taste something).

I'm used to different and strong taste like pizza, souvlaki, steak, shawarma, fied chiken, Paté chinois, Show ming..etc. I think in Québec, you can really eat everything in one week with the real taste they suppose to have in each country it came from. Even japanese food is same taste in Québec. For sure we made a western selection of japanese food (the consistant and tasty one), but those we put on the menu taste same as here. In Japan all 'Western' food restaurants are runned by japanese for japanese. Everything is addapted to their taste. Since only 1.5% of people are strangers, and only few of them posses restaurant.  To find a place to eat a normal italian pizza (peperoni, tomato, cheese) you need to search like crazy. I think that Japan need more immigrant to enlarge their taste without modifications of the innitial recipe. In supermarket they have all the ingrediant to make them taste same as Italia, Québec or Iran.

In Québec it's the opposite, most restanrants owners are immigrant. From all around the world. I would say....maybe close  to 60% for sure. It's really the opposite. Here in a train I am the only stranger...in Québec sometimes I am the only white on a bus. We don't look at people like they are different but here I feel sometimes like a bunny surrounded by wolfs. It's a strange feeling. But I don't really care. What I care most is language. Since no one here speak english I have to rely on my husband in all communications. It piss me off sometimes. When He will live with me in Québec, he will teach me everyday so next time I come home I can speak more and more.

No Johnny's Entertainment Countdown for 2010-2011

Mouahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Kanashiiiiiii!!!! Up untill now no news about it. Usually they announce who will host it in december. I wait for that all years long and this year... nothing. It's really sad. I follow countdown since 2006 but found all of them on the net since the first one.

It was the chance to remember all those group I don't really see often. Old song who was also good like this song from V6 - Music for the people lovin'.

It was always a good years start!!! This year I will have my husband with me... It's better in a way :P.

I guess maybe it's because KAT-TUN lost Akanishi Jin. They can't put KAT-TUN on stage with Akanishi waiting in the background. He quit the group but not the company. He was maybe afraid to be treated badly by KAT-TUN fans if he had shows up in a countdown. But.... he could have stayed at home that's all.... anyway...

Tokio new single 'NaNaNa'!!

Nagase Tomoya, the only man in JE! More than 6 feet tall, more than 150lbs, body hair and facial hair (partially). For sure he have a strange voice not always tuned and a strong accent that makes him sound like Mulder in X-Files (mumbling 90% of any words), but his presence is enough to make the worst be forgiven hahaha!

This pics is taken from a recent performance at 'Best Artist 2010'. He surprise me by singing without any trouble. Normaly it takes him some times to adjust his bizzare voice when live on stage but he was perfect. Tokio did their new song 'NaNaNa'. This song is good. I will check this single for sure.

I like him mostly because he is crazy and funny. Any other JE looks like kids when close to him. He impose respect. My best dorama from him is 'My boss My hero!'

(The pudding crazy run through school bashing everyone in his way!!! Unforgettable!)

Kyoto!

I will be spending christmas eve in Kyoto. There is a lot of temples and shrines there. We will visit some of them. I don't really know the itinary since my husband and his parent planed this trip. It's gonna be a big surprise and the best gift ever!!! My poor gift are nothing compares to that! I just hope they will be happy with it anyway. This part of Japan seems to have really great scenaries. I checked the weather just to make sure it's not gonna be cold or look like that :

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yadayoooooooooooooooooo!!!
Those days it's getting warmer a bit in Québec. From -2c to -6c. For Québec it's pretty nice and warm for winter. Today it's 13c in Fukuoka hahaha!!!! It's a big difference. It will be like spring for me.

Lets make a little presentation of what to see in Kyoto.

Kiyomizudera, Kyoto-Shi

Kiyomizudera which translates as the "Temple of Pure Water," is a popular temple with young people who come to pray for success in finding a suitable partner at a Shinto shrine inside the complex. Built in 798 and set in an historic hillside location, the temple is a Kyoto landmark and must-see for most visitors. The main hall is set on a huge wooden terrace which commands a good view of the city and the pleasant temple grounds and pagoda.

Nijo Castle, Kyoto-Shi
Fascinating Nijo Castle, like the shoguns mausoleums at Nikko, is an ostentatious display of wealth and power in contrast with the austerity often shown in the buildings of the Imperial nobility. Built as the power base of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1606, and rebuilt after fire in 1788, the huge walls, moats and towers exude military might. Inside, the Kano School of artists depicted tigers and leopards whose ferocity and power were chosen to symbolize Tokugawa strength. As you walk through the castle, note the wooden "nightingale floors" that squeak merrily, not as an aesthetic pleasure, but to serve as an alarm against night intruders.

Heian Shrine, Kyoto-Shi

Kyoto's most imposing shrine was built in 1884 to mark the 1,100th anniversary of the city. It is dedicated to the first and last Emperors to reside in the old capital. The bright orange and green main hall is a scaled down replica of the Heian Period Imperial Palace. Entrance to the extensive grounds are free, but there is a charge to enter the exquisitely landscaped strolling garden complete with large ornamental pond, covered bridge and a multitude of delightful cherry trees, azaleas, water lilies and irises. Open daily 6a.

Daikaku-ji Temple, Kyoto-Shi

Established in 876 AD as a temple, it is located adjacent to the Ozawa pond. In the 1600s, Emperor Saga's imperial detached villa, Saga Palace, was taken apart and reassembled here. The several wings are connected with covered corridors. The Shinden has been named an important cultural property. Noteworthy are the fusuma painted by Sanraku Kano with the ubiquitous flower motifs. Daikaku-ji is well known for its Heian era garden, it is among the oldest gardens in Kyoto. It is the home base for ikebana's Saga Goryu flower-arranging school.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sooooo much to see. The list is still very long. I wonder witch one I will be able to visit. I can't wait!!!!

(My shopping center's Christmas tree! It's not really a tree but a mix of fake stuff who looks like it. It's well done!)

Christmas festivity begin today at my friend's place in MTL. Sadly it's really cold outside for now but it might warm up a bit at the end of the day. I will meet her boyfriend and see her new house. People who recently buy a house, always need to invite people to show it like a trophy hahaha!!! Next week I also have a party and once in Japan I will sure drink a lot hahaha!!!

This weekend I have a boring job to do :PPPP. Wraping gifts. I am not bad at it but just impatient. I will try to do my best. The half of my luggage will be gifts. As soon as I get to Japan I will have to buy cloth cause I can't bring a lot. I am also happy to buy cloth at Uniqlo. I like this shop and I prefer japanese cloth style. So it's not a big sacrifice :)!!! It's my first happy christmas with someone I love since 5 years. It was about time. I won't listen to 'White X-mas' alone in my room watching the christmas tree this year. HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY! Christmas minna san!!!!

Snow! Snow! Snow!

This morning it's snowing like crazy and it's continuing through the day. It's the second day of this snow storm. I am now counting days before I get out of this white shit to Japan!!! My husband harms are much more attractive than Québec for sure. I don't think I will see snowing while I will be in Fukuoka. Maybe when I'll be in Tokyo on my last day. Since in Québec winter is always hell, I don't really wish to see any snow while I'm there. Please Yuki no Kami stay away from meeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

それは時間です!

Charmed!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh muzukashiiii..... I was searching for my sorceries related books yesterday and discovered many old stuff. I kept the drawing I did when I was a teen. Someday I will scan them cause the paper is aging and I will loose them. I was also looking at my D&D books about the witch. The first printed by my ex for me when I was 17 years old. He started me as a witch to play dungeon and dragon games. After loosing him, I decided to stop playing this game cause everything about it reminds me him. After that only sorcerie left. I kept the interest. Even after all those years, I still like it. I don't really remember my ex now cause it's been more than 15 years but I watched 'Charmed'  again and again. This world of demons, witch and angel is still attracting me. Since I don't remember how to play dungeon and dragons, I watch this series so I can still escape in this world. I like fantasy world.

Beaujolais Mommessin 2009

1 : Beaujolais, Petit Fruit Rouges, Mommessin 2009

Red wine. Really nice fresh grape aroma. Little dry but no acidity. Taste a bit like it was cut with water.

6/10

Vintage : 2009

Producer : Mommessin

Cépage : 100% Gamay

 Country : France

Region : Burgundy

App.: Beaujolais Nouveau

It was a really nice wine and also my first 'Beaujolais' try. It's a really weak wine. I don't mean that it's lower than 12% alcohol but you don't feel any complexity. It's a bit like drinking cheap Italian wine from a conbini store but little bit cut with water. I will try the 2010 next week from the same producer to see if the cépage, who have a short life in a bottle, is better when really new.
